Don't try this at home - Professional Captain!

This tugboat was pushing barges of coal - you can see the water current and how fast it is

The bridge doesn't open! The tug lets go of the barges and hits reverse to avoid a collision!
Darn!
The current pushes it sideways...

Self explanatory!

What?!?!?

See the smoke? This tug is still under power!

On its way again! Nothing is stopping this tug!

NEW FIRE PROTECTION REGULATIONS
FOR UN-INSPECTED TOWING VESSELS

The Federal Register of October 19, 1999 (64 CFR 56.257) contains an Interim Final Rule (IR) that lists new requirements for fire protection equipment onboard un-inspected towing vessels. By January 19, 2000, all towing vessels must comply with the crew training requirements listed in 46 CFR 27.245. The remainder of the new requirements, namely, General Alarm Systems, Fire Detection Systems, Internal Communications Systems, and Remote Fuel Shutoff Valves, become effective October 08, 2001.

Western Fire & Safety Co., Inc. has developed an economical package for at least one item, where plans have been submitted and approved by the Commandant USCG, Washington, DC for the Fuel Shutoff Valve System.

Items have been carefully selected to provide an approved and economical package that will assist you in easily crossing the hurdle of at least one requirement.

For vessels that require it, we recommend that you order the kit immediately, and have it available for installation at short notice.

NOTES:
1.    You can order here for an additional discount
2.    We suggest a visual to locate the remote pull box and estimate the number of 90
degree turns tocomplete the installation. Order additional corner pulleys as needed.
3.    The order MUST specify the size of Ball Valve (0.75", 1", 1.25", 1.5", 2")
4.    The package is a minimum count with NO RETURNS except if in full, with a 25% percent
restocking fee, plus inbound & outbound freight charges.
5.    Order your kit online and receive a 3% percent discount. (The 10% front page
advertised discount does not apply to Fuel Valve Shutoff Kits.)
6.    Order 5+ kits and receive an additional 5% percent discount.
7.    Ordering with a Purchase Order Number (OAC), will eliminate the online purchase
       special discount.
